Alana Warden is the owner and operator of The British Barn.  She has years of experience in the saddle as well as in business.  Originally from England, Alana now calls Ft. Lauderdale home.

Alana's Lead Trainer is Saskia Tau.  Saskia (sauce-key-ah) has been riding competitively for 15 years in the USA, Netherlands, and in Germany. Her training has been with excellent local trainers and Olympic Gold Medalists.   She is currently studying Psychology and Business in college and teaches hunter seat equitation, jumpers as well as training horses and ponies.

Trainer Saskia Tau has been riding since she was 4 yrs old.  She took her first pony rides when she was 3 along with her brother who was taking lessons at the time.  From that time on horses have been a huge part of her life and motivation.  As you can see in the video, she had some great moments.  She got her first horse at 9 yrs old after making the honor roll at school.  Unfortunately her horse Oliver left this world after taking her to the Equitation finals at Heritage Horse Show.  At 13 yrs she went to get a horse from Germany.  Ivenhoe.  You can see their career together and even a short moment of when she tried him for the first time in Germany.  I hope this is a window to the joys and effort it takes from both the parents, trainers but most importantly from the young riders themselves to get to ride in the big leagues.
